CoE signs MoU with IEEE

During the Malta Engineering Excellence Awards, the Chamber of Engineers also signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (IEEE).

CoE President Ing. Saviour Baldacchino stated that this signing was a sign of closer collaboration between the two organisations. He remarked that although an understanding already existed between the CoE and IEEE, now that it had been articulated and put on paper, it would serve as a more tangible point of reference for a healthier professional relationship.

The IEEE Malta Section was approved on the 8th November 2006, and the first council was elected in January 2007. It is the representation in Malta of the IEEE, which is the world’s largest professional association dedicated to advancing technological innovation and excellence for the benefit of humanity. IEEE and its members inspire a global community through IEEE's highly cited publications, conferences, technology standards, and professional and educational activities. The IEEE Malta Section has around 200 members.
