The Council of the Chamber of Engineers has the pleasure to once again announce the launching of the Malta Engineering Excellence Awards (MEEA) for the Year 2016. This is the 15th Edition and we hereby declare the nominations for this year as now OPEN.
The Chamber of Engineers recognises the importance of this yearly event as a celebration of achievements by the local engineering community with regards to excellence in engineering innovation and its positive impact on the Maltese society.
This year two Awards will be presented
The Maurice Debono Lifetime Achievement Award towards the individual engineer who has contributed along his lifetime towards the advancement of Engineering and its profession in Malta, in honour of one of our founders.
The Industrial Excellence Award is awarded to organisations/ companies/ individuals who have demonstrated excellence in their engineering work through a recent project.
During the same event, the Best Student Projects’ CoE Awards will also take place, but their nominations are separate from the MEEA procedures.
We encourage both companies and individuals to come forward and nominate individuals and organisations that merit consideration for these awards, in line with our terms as set out in the same nomination form. The deadline for submission of nominations has been extended to the 4th November 2016, therefore we ask vigilance on the part of our members to participate actively in these nominations.

The event will be held at the majestic Verdala Palace on the evening of Thursday 1st December 2016. Due to numerous requests in the past, this year we are planning to have seating facilities during the awards’ ceremony.
Please note all nomination forms and relevant documentation are to reach the MEEA Selection Committee by the closing date mentioned above. No applications will be considered after that date.
The Chamber would like to promote this event also as a public awareness exercise to recognise the Engineering achievements. We therefore encourage organisations and individuals to come forward and participate actively, even via sponsorship towards this annual prestigious event.
