| Occupational Risk Management CPD Course |
The Chamber of Engineers (CoE) is organising a Continuous Profession Development (CPD) session on ‘Occupational Risk Management’. Issues relating to the identification of hazards at the workplace and strategic procedures to assess, eliminate or manage risks will be discussed during this short 3-hour course. During the course, reference will be made to real-life cases from the local scenario. Moreover, besides the theory-based presentations and discussions, in the second part of the course, participants will also have the opportunity to apply OHS principles in a practical simulation exercise. Mr Anthony Xuereb, the tutor for the course, has ample experience in the field of Occupational Health and Safety. As Head of Health, Safety & Welfare at Enemalta Corporation Mr Xuereb was in charge of some 1800 employees. Mr Xuereb continues to lecture at various educational institutions and to offer consultancy services specific to OHS to various clients in Industry. He is also a member of the board of Directors at EneMalta Corporation. The course will be held at the Conference Hall, Professional Centre, Sliema Road, Gzira and is open to members of the Chambers and non-members alike. Registration fees for CoE members are at €15 whilst non-members pay €25. This is the first CPD session the CoE is offering for 2009. Similar courses will be held throughout the year.
