Biography


Technical Adviser in Vertical Transportation Systems (lifts, escalators, specialised elevators, etc). Graduated as a Mechanical Engineer in 1980 and carried out my engineering training in the UK. My specialisation in the field of vertical transportation systems was carried out in Vienna, Austria. I hold an MBA (Operations Research) from Brunel University, full membership of FEANI, CIBSE, ASHRAE, IAEE and IMECHE.  I have over 44 years of experience as an engineer in Malta, Italy, UK, Austria, Libya, Egypt and the Middle East. I am currently responsible for all technical matters related to vertical transportation for the prestigious inspection body SGS and signatory of all final examination certificates issued. The territories include Malta, Italy and China. In addition, I am also adviser to various entities on lifts in Malta and overseas.  I used to until recently manage an Accredited Conformity Assessment Body. I am a member of various organisations and chair international meetings on lifts and is a key expert on CEN – TC10 particularly WG4, WG8 & WG10 plus technical expert on ISO Standards on Lifts.
