Biography
Prof. Stephen Abela enrolled at the University of Malta and received his B.Eng (Hons) degree in Engineering in 1998. Stephen Abela joined the department as Research assistant where helped the department in the setting up of the heat treatment facility and offering heat treatment and surface engineering services to the local industry. In 22nd June 2007 Stephen Abela received his PhD degree from the University of Malta, for his work related to the develop Ion Beam Assisted Deposition technology for magnesium alloys. His research focus is surface engineering in water treatment, energy storage, and renewable energy technologies.
