UESA and The Chamber of Engineers are excited to announce ‘The Leber Hereditary Optic Neuropathy Fundraising Gala’ at Giardini Lambrosa, Rabat on the 25th of February 2023!
The event is being held in support of an engineering student and friend, Matthias Zarb Szabó, who has recently been diagnosed with LHON – a genetic condition characterized by bilateral, painless subacute loss of central vision during young adult life. The condition is treatable; however, medication is extremely expensive.
We encourage you to mark your calendars and plan to join us for a night of delicious food, live entertainment by a selection of bands and musicians and an open bar with free-flowing wines, beers and soft drinks.
An exciting raffle will be held on the night! These prizes, along with the band line-up, will be revealed later on, so watch this space!
This fundraiser could not have been organised without the help of these generous sponsors. A special thanks goes out to Elia Caterers – for providing the venue and catering and supporting our idea with open arms from the very start. Thank you to Auntie’s Yellow Sofa, Daniel Zammit Lupi, Martha Micallef Attard, Emma de Gabriele, Amy Govus, Raquel Sammut, Simon Cutajar and Lisa Magri Overand for your time in preparing for this event – we truly cannot wait to see you perform. Moreover, thanks to Delicata, GSD and Farsons for sourcing our open bar. Thank you to MST Audio Visual Ltd. for hooking us up with all the technical and sound equipment. Grafika Designers, for your beautiful graphic designs. Finally, thanks to Creations by H&S Decorations and Beyond Decor Malta for giving your special artistic touch to our event.
This event is open for everyone to come-together and join us in raising awareness for this cause, including, but not limited to, students and parents, academics and staff.
Tickets may be purchased from the attached link here.
NOTE:
STUDENT TICKETS: These tickets are only applicable to students that are currently still studying and are able to provide proof of course. This may be done by sending a screenshot of eSims or any other method of proof to UESA on Facebook messenger. Once this is validated, a unique code will be provided per student. This code is of one-time use and will be asked for on checkout. Tickets with invalid codes will be cancelled.
DRESS CODE: Suit and Tie
The ticket price consists of the entrance fee, open bar, finger food and a donation. All proceeds of this event will go directly to Matthias and his family to help cover the costs of the treatment.
