Chamber of Engineers meets Lufthansa Technik Malta

On Friday 1st March 2024, the Chamber of Engineers (CoE) carried out a visit to Lufthansa Technik Malta (LTM) at the company’s facility in Luqa.  

The CoE delegation was welcomed by the Chief Executive Officer Inġ. Maria Cilia and Inġ. Maria Rita Muscat, Manager – One Planning & Engineering Department. The Chamber was represented by Inġ. Denise Bezzina, DrInġ. Bonnie Attard, Inġ Simon Abela and the Council Student Representative Ryan Grech. 

As a part of the global Lufthansa Technik Network,  LTM provides line and base maintenance services for both short-haul and long-haul aircraft. LTM’s portfolio includes the Airbus family aircraft types A320, A320neo, A330, A340, A350.  Impressively LTM also very recently added the Boeing 787 series to its portfolio and is renowned in the network as the centre for wide body excellence.

The spectrum of services offered at LTM  encompasses  extensive airframe maintenance with the range of heavy airframe maintenance including extensive D-check and C-checks. 

Complimenting this LTM also offers its customers wide-ranging capabilities for structural and composites repairs, complex testing procedures and comprehensive cabin modernisation programs such as the large cabin retrofit program  carried out for the Lufthansa long-haul fleet.

The Chamber of Engineers has acknowledged the developments which have pioneered aviation maintenance in Malta and has emphasised its commitment to establishing a closer relationship with stakeholders in the aviation industry. The meeting has explored potential areas of collaboration and opportunities to establish closer links with engineers in the aviation industry.
