On the 23rd December 2025 Dr Inġ. Bonnie Attard attended a courtesy meeting with Her Excellency Myriam Spiteri Debono, President of Malta, at San Anton Palace. The Chamber’s President was joined by Inġ. Maurizio Cappello, (Treasurer) together with Mrs. Marcelle Abela (Administrative Secretary).

During the meeting, the delegation expressed its gratitude to Her Excellency for graciously extending her distinguished patronage to the Malta Engineering Excellence Awards (MEEAs) 2025 and for her continued support of the engineering profession. The MEEAs, held on 27 November at the Casino Maltese, attracted enthusiastic participation, with a high number of project nominations across all categories, showcasing the exceptional work being carried out locally across diverse engineering disciplines.

Her Excellency was also presented with a brief overview of the Chamber of Engineers’ activities and the latest developments within the engineering profession, ranging from initiatives and developments in the educational sector to advancements in industry and policy.

On behalf of the Chamber, the President presented a donation to the Malta Community Chest Fund (MCCF), collected from the guests of the Malta Engineering Excellence Awards 2025.

The Chamber of Engineers extends its sincere thanks to all the guests of the MEEAs 2025 for their generous contributions towards the MCCF, and to the Office of the President of Malta for its valued support.
