Chamber of Engineers attend the 50th European Young Engineers Conference

Between May 11th and 14thAlex Tanti, Funding Secretary of the Chamber of Engineers attended the 50th Edition of the European Young Engineers (EYE) conference held in The Hague, Netherlands. EYE is a vibrant international community that represents over 500,000 young engineers from 20+ countries. It advocates for the political interests of its member associations and all young engineers and engineering students, particularly regarding engineering-related matters.

Malta is officially represented within the EYE through UESA – University Engineering Students’ Association, but due to the proximity of the conference and the students’ exams, UESA was not able to make it to the conference. For this reason, the COE decided to support UESA to ensure that Malta is well-represented for this milestone EYE Conference.

This EYE Conference saw the election of the new EYE management team. The Chamber would like to express its gratitude to departing president Nadja Yang for her exceptional work over the past two years and extend our best wishes to the newly elected President Paul Jenkinson as he embarks on this new endeavour.

It’s worth noting that the EYE conference has been previously organised in Malta three times, in 2007, 2012, and 2018. The Chamber of Engineers is committed to maintaining active participation within EYE, recognising the opportunities it presents for local young engineers.
