Inġiniera Malta, the joint committee between Kamra tal-Periti and Chamber of Engineers (CoE), took an active participation in the ENGINEERS EUROPE Annual Business Meetings (ABM) held in Cannes, France, on June 8 and 9 2023. During these meetings, Inġ Michelle Cortis, CoE’s International Affairs Secretary and Executive Board Member of Engineers Europe, along with Inġ Malcolm Zammit, CoE’s President, were present from Malta.
During the National Members Forum (NMF), held on the first day, the CoE President was invited to join a panel discussion on Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 7: Affordable and Clean Energy (incl. the aspect of security of supply) which has kicked off the policy work of Engineers Europe about SDG 7. The CoE President, Inġ Malcolm Zammit, shared some perspectives from Malta and has amply highlighted the pivotal role of engineers in decision making for long-term sustainability.
A wide range of other topics were discussed during the NMF and the General Assembly; including National Members’ activities, progress reports from ongoing working groups such as WG FUTURE ENGINEERS and a progress review update on the Engineers4Europe (E4E) Erasmus Project.
The ENGINEERS EUROPE ABM 2023 was hosted by the Ingénieurs et Scientifiques de France (IESF – Engineers and Scientists of France). Inġiniera Malta is grateful for the opportunity to participate in these meetings and remains dedicated towards international contribution and engagement.
The International Affairs Secretary of the Chamber will be preparing a report of these events for the members’ perusal. The Chamber invites those interested in more information on these events and international activities to email us on firstname.lastname@example.org.
