On Monday 11th December 2023, Inġ. Malcolm Zammit attended a cordial meeting with H.E George Vella, The President of Malta at San Anton Palace. The CoE President was joined by Inġ. Denise Bezzina, Public Relations Officer, and Mrs Marcelle Abela, Administrative Secretary.

The CoE expressed thanks to H.E. for extending his distinguished patronage to the Malta Engineering Excellence Awards (MEEA) 2023 and for the support provided by his Office, and observed with satisfaction that the MEEA 2023 enjoyed one of the most enthusiastic participations of recent years. The President remarked that he was pleased to see such a breadth of engineering projects originating from various fields.

The President of Malta was given a brief overview of the recent activity from the Chamber, reflecting the positive impact which the engineering profession is having on various sectors of industry. During the discussion, the President underscored the importance for the country to have a consistent supply of engineers as technology continues to advance steadily.

The CoE President then presented The President with a donation to The Malta Community Chest Fund (MCCF) which was collected from proceeds from the MEEA 2023 held on 24^th November at The Malta Chamber in Valletta.

The Chamber of Engineers extends its gratitude towards the guests of the MEEA 2023 for their generous contribution towards the MCCF and the Office of the President of Malta for the support.
