Malta Enterprise and The Chamber of Engineers (CoE) signed a new Memorandum of Understanding which extends their formalised collaboration which was first initiated via as similar agreement in 2022.

The signing took place between Inġ. Malcolm Zammit, President of the Chamber of Engineers and Mr Kurt Farrugia, Chief Executive Officer of Malta Enterprise.

During the first year of collaboration, the Chamber circulated with members of the engineering profession several career opportunities which arose from ME initiatives to attract foreign direct investments and in supporting local companies as they grow.

Furthermore, the Chamber extended visibility of ME events which attracted start-ups and entrepreneurial minds to increase engagement within the engineering profession.

Exposing engineers to opportunities within FDI and local companies

Mr Kurt Farrugia, Chief Executive Officer at Malta Enterprise, said that: “Through this collaboration agreement with the Chamber of Engineers, engineering professionals will be exposed to opportunities that can augment their careers in industrial segments where technical competence is a highly valued asset. This aligns well with our efforts to attract more value-adding foreign-direct investments and build technical capacity of our market”.

Inġ. Malcolm Zammit, President of the Chamber of Engineers, said that: “The Chamber finds fulfilment in exposing its members to opportunities which can lead their careers into more rewarding paths. Therefore, we feel that this collaboration with Malta Enterprise can continued to be productive in this regard by promoting industry opportunities in sectors which are highly technological and require the high degree of capability of local engineering talent. As a Chamber, we look forward to steer this collaboration forwards and to see growing collaboration with Malta Enterprise as we likewise seek to be closer to the industry.”
