Chamber of Engineers meets H.E. Myriam Spiteri Debono, The President of Malta

On Tuesday 17th December 2024, Inġ. Malcolm Zammit attended a courtesy meeting with H.E. Myriam Spiteri Debono, President of Malta, at San Anton Palace. The Chamber’s President was joined by Inġ. Ansel Briffa, Editor of Engineering Today, and Mrs. Marcelle Abela, Administrative Secretary.
The Chamber of Engineers (CoE) delegation thanked H.E. the President for extending her distinguished patronage to the Malta Engineering Excellence Awards (MEEA) 2024, which was hosted at the iconic Verdala Palace. The President of Malta was also thanked for the support provided throughout the organisation of such a prestigious event for the engineering profession.
MEEA 2024, held on 29th November 2024, received one of the strongest turnouts to date, with a breadth of nominated engineering projects originating from the wide spectrum of industry in Malta.
Her Excellency, Myriam Spiteri Debono, was given a brief overview of the CoE, an organisation that brings together engineers from different demographics, varying levels of experience, and from a multitude of industrial sectors. During the discussion, the President highlighted the importance of keeping the engineering community active and showcasing the vibrant contributions of the profession.
The CoE President then presented a donation in aid of the Malta Community Chest Fund (MCCF), which was collected from the guests of the MEEA 2024.
The Chamber of Engineers thanks all the guests of the MEEA 2024 for their generous contribution towards the MCCF and the Office of the President of Malta for their support.
