Chamber of Engineers and Malta Digital Innovation Authority sign a Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen Malta’s digital innovation landscape

On 22nd September 2025, the Chamber of Engineers (CoE) and the Malta Digital Innovation Authority (MDIA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to formalize a strategic collaboration aimed at strengthening Malta’s digital landscape. This agreement establishes a framework to promote engineering excellence and drive digital innovation across key sectors.
The MoU was signed between Dr Inġ. Bonnie Attard, President of the Chamber of Engineers, and Mr Kenneth Brincat, Chief Executive Officer of the MDIA. Also present were Inġ. David Scicluna Giusti, Vice-President, and Mr Gaetano Bugelli, Public Relations Officer, representing the Chamber, together with Mr Gavril Flores, Chief of Strategy, Policy and Governance and Ms Naomi Mallia, Communications and Marketing Manager from MDIA.
This partnership is designed to unlock new opportunities for engineering professionals by aligning with MDIA-led initiatives in emerging fields such as Artificial Intelligence, blockchain technologies, data governance, and cybersecurity where engineering professionals are involved. Through this collaboration, engineers will benefit from enhanced access to targeted continuous development programmes that support career development and innovation within this sector.
By joining forces, the Chamber of Engineers and MDIA reaffirm their commitment to cultivating a digitally skilled workforce, empowering Malta’s next generation of innovators, and positioning the nation as a trusted hub for advanced technology and digital excellence.
